Durham police investigate two separate fatal shootings that left two men dead and another man injured in Durham.

Two Men Killed, One Injured in Separate Durham Shootings Hours Apart Over Weekend

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred just hours apart, leaving two men dead and another man injured between Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.

The first shooting was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, on Sherron Road. Less than five hours later, officers were called to another shooting on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard.

Police have not released the identities of the men killed, announced any arrests or said whether investigators believe the two shootings are connected.

Man Found Shot Behind Sherron Road Business

At approximately 7:50 p.m. Saturday, Durham Police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Sherron Road.

When officers arrived, they found an adult man behind a business suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released additional information about what may have led to the shooting or identified any suspects.

Second Fatal Shooting Reported Hours Later

At approximately 12:31 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, officers responded to another shooting, this time in the 4400 block of Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard.

Police found an adult male victim who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

A second adult male who had also been shot was transported to a hospital with injuries police described as non-life-threatening.

Authorities have not released the identities of either victim or provided information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Both Investigations Remain Active

Durham Police said both fatal shootings remain under active investigation and additional details will be released when appropriate.
