Earlier Investigation Led to Two Adult Arrests and 10 Firearms Seized

The juvenile charges are connected to a broader investigation announced by Durham police on October 16.

On October 14, officers from DPD’s Criminal Investigation Division, Special Operations Unit and Selective Enforcement Team executed a search warrant in the 1100 block of Rosedale Avenue.

The search was part of an investigation involving vehicle break-ins, armed robberies, and a reported sexual assault.

Investigators recovered:

  • 10 firearms, including four identified as stolen

  • Two firearms described by police as automatic weapons

  • Ammunition

  • Cash

Police arrested Treyveyon Cox, 21, and Telisha Hall-Cox, 50, both Durham residents.

The department announced charges involving four counts of possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction, two counts of possession of a machine gun and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The original announcement did not specify how those counts were divided between the two adults.

Police also connected the investigation to incidents around North Roxboro Road and Club Boulevard.

The department has not provided additional details establishing whether any of the individuals face charges directly related to the reported armed robberies or sexual assault.

Investigation Continues; Additional Charges Possible

The Durham Police Department previously indicated that additional charges could be filed as investigators continue examining the incidents.

The latest update does not announce any additional adult arrests or changes to the previously reported firearm charges.

All charges are allegations, and those accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty or adjudicated responsible through the appropriate legal process.
