Durham Police Report 32 Arrests, 17 Firearms Seized in Three-Day Crime Enforcement Operation

A targeted enforcement effort brought police and federal investigators into several Durham neighborhoods. The results included weapons, drugs, and dozens of reported arrests. See where officers focused their efforts and who was named in the police report.

DURHAM, N.C. — A three-day law enforcement operation targeting several Durham neighborhoods resulted in 32 reported arrests, 17 firearms seized and dozens of drug- and weapons-related charges, according to the Durham Police Department.

The initiative, called Operation Autumn Guardian, was conducted October 21–23, 2026, by the department’s Organized Crime Division, working alongside the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

Police said the operation followed an increase in criminal activity in four targeted areas: the Fayetteville Street Corridor, the 3400 block of Glasson Street, the 3600 block of Keystone Place and the North Miami Boulevard Corridor.

Police Conduct 105 Traffic Stops, Seize Weapons and Drugs

During the operation, officers conducted 105 vehicle stops, served or pursued outstanding warrants, and carried out neighborhood patrols.

According to Durham police, the enforcement effort resulted in the seizure of:

  • 17 firearms
  • One firearm conversion device, commonly called a “switch”
  • 533 grams of marijuana
  • 25 grams of crack cocaine
  • One gram of methamphetamine
  • Less than one gram of fentanyl
  • $1,499 in cash

A firearm conversion device can enable certain semiautomatic firearms to fire automatically, making such devices a significant public safety concern.

In addition to enforcement activities, officers conducted foot patrols, citizen contacts and “knock and talks” intended to locate wanted individuals and encourage residents to report suspected criminal activity.

Among the more serious charges reported:
