Model/Interior Designer DONYELLE FRANK: Featured Artist Of The Week

Spectacular Magazine has selected model/interior designer Donyelle ‘Frankie’ Frank as the Featured Artist of the Week for the week of January 25, 2021. 

Donyelle Frank aka Frankie is a visionary in many aspects. Using her electric creativity, southern girl charm, inventiveness & intelligence, Frankie creates a memorable experience with everyone she encounters. Frankie is a proud North Carolinian and an alumnus of North Carolina Central University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education.

Active in community outreach & inspirational speaking. Frankie finds serenity in traveling, piecing together iconic fashion looks, spending time with her family & friends as well as consistently rising to the opportunity to showcase her many talents. She uses her love for the arts to lead her in her multitalented lifestyle. From strutting the runway to taking that beauty and transforming it into different art forms, Frankie is sure to keep you on your toes and her in your mind. 

Spectacular Magazine was compelled to learn more about Donyelle Frank aka Miss Frankie:

Angelica Bonds (AB): How did your career come about?

Donyelle Frank (Frankie): I began modeling when I was asked to walk in a fashion show in 2016 for a few black-owned clothing lines.  The professional pictures were taken and when those pictures were released it was “ON AND POPPIN.” Five years later and I’ve been in the modeling game ever since. My talents go beyond modeling with me using my artistic side to create dream spaces for clientele. Interior designing has always been a hobby of mine honestly. I grew up playing the sims just so I could design homes, now I run a growing interior design business. This has got to be the most fun I’ve ever had working any job, and the fact that it’s mine makes it all the more a beautiful experience. I am very blessed! Radio personality is my newest baby! Someone’s beautiful soul listed me as an interior designer & model, asked if I could come down and do an interview, I left with a radio show! Someone gave me a platform, so I am standing on it, black girl magic just sprinkled everywhere!

(AB): What was your favorite modeling session? What is your dream modeling gig?

Frankie: Oh man, I feel like every shoot is my favorite. Thus far it has to be the video shoot for the announcement of my radio show, IYKYK! So much fun, so sexy, so BOSS! Just an unforgettable experience. I’m all about breaking barriers! My dream is to model for a high fashion designer brand as the plus-sized, melanated, gap flaunting, beautiful woman I am! Breaking the traditional mold is the goal in everything I do, so if I am ever presented the opportunity to do so, I’m definitely going to step!

(AB): How did you get into producing and directing?

Frankie: My business partner and I got together and said “let’s do something different!” In the thick of Covid, racial injustices and nothing but time, we put together our first project. We created a beautiful visual highlighting racial injustices. It encompassed strength, unity, soul & fashion undertones. You can view it on my website! All of my projects thus far have been so different and DOPE! I love them all. 

(AB): What inspired you to focus on the artistic side of life?

Frankie: I think the artistic side of me always finds a way to melt into the other parts honestly! In every other avenue, the creative aspect of my mind is always the thing that sets me apart from the crowd. Let your passions flow through you in all areas, it’ll eventually lead you to your destiny!

(AB): How does interior design fit into your life? How does the artistic eye help in your interior designing?

Frankie: I am BUSY! Every waking moment, I am planning or completing a project. There are no days off, but I am so blessed to love the craft so much. It doesn’t feel like I’m working, I am creating one of a kind exclusive designs, positive energy, and a personal bond with my clients. That’s the basis my brand is built on, that’s the Donyelle Frank experience! 

(AB): What is your show on IHeart Radio about? What topics will you discuss up there? 

Frankie: If I had to describe my radio show, I would use the words fun, sexy, informative, encouraging, & urban! We discuss everything from finances, music, and meditation, to fashion and tips on your intimate partner relationships! It pushes the envelope, just like me. You can tune in Mondays at 5:45 pm on IHeartRadio. The name of the show is IYKYK.

(AB): With so many different talents, how are you able to juggle everything?

Frankie: I’ve learned to work well under pressure and still enjoy the ride, but honestly I couldn’t do it without my team! Huge thanks go out to my social media directors, Etiquette Styles. My content creators, Regime Media. My creative right hand, Monica Northern, and my guru of finances, Frank Northern! I could not do it without them! Your team is just as important as the product and I have a solid one! 

(AB): Any advice for a young woman who strives to be as multitalented as you?

Frankie: Baby, just do it. Life is short, so you may as well live every second filling it with everything your passionate about. Take the time to make your mistakes and enjoy your journey of learning! Go out and secure your bag in every single lane you can create, and thrive in them. The world is yours, what mark do you want to leave on this earth? Now go get it!
