Believers United for Progress Presents Community Fun Fest COVID-19 Vaccination Extravaganza
DURHAM, NC – Believers United for Progress (BUFP) will present a Community Fun Fest COVID-19 Vaccination Extravaganza. This event will take place at the W. D. Hill Recreation Center (1308 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC 27707) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021, and featuring free food, vaccinations (Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna upon request), access to community groups, incentives, games, entertainment, free skating with skates and more.
At this event, families and individuals in our community will have the opportunity to get a vaccination to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Throughout the event, those in attendance will have the opportunity to interact and network with both community members and outreach partners.
Volunteers are still needed to help run games and assist with logistics. Additionally, donations of any size are appreciated.
When asked why BUFP is hosting such an event, Kasib Abdullah, Executive Director stated, “Needy families and individuals in our community go without proper food, shelter, and essential medical care every day due to a variety of factors including low wages, job loss, injuries, illness, age, domestic violence, etc. While all of us are susceptible to hard times, this COVID-19 pandemic has not only magnified the issues that already exist but has added to the hardship these families face. BUFP sees itself as a community organization that addresses the needs of our community.”
