NC State Advances to 3rd-Consecutive ACC Championship
GREENSBORO, N.C. — NC State star forward Elissa Cunane scored 20 points to lead the Wolfpack to a 70-55 win on Saturday over the Virginia Tech Hokies to advance to the 2022 ACC Tournament.
Both teams would battle back and forth in the first half with the Wolfpack taking a 31-27 advantage heading into halftime.
NC State came out of halftime on a mission and outscored the Hokies 23-17 in the third quarter.
Virginia Tech was led by guard Kayana Traylor (18 points) and Georgia Amoore (12 points, 3 assists).
The Hokies were missing their star player and 2022 ACC Player of the Year Elizabeth Kitley, who missed the game with a shoulder injury.
Forward Jada Boyd chipped in 16 points and four rebounds. Junior guard Jakia Brown-Turner added seven points, six rebounds, and six assists.
NC State will face the winner of the Miami/Notre Dame game on Saturday afternoon in the ACC Tournament championship game at 12 PM noon on ACC Network.
