Bulls Maintain First Place Lead In Win Over Tides
The Durham Bulls defeated the Norfolk Tides, 8-2 to maintain their first-place lead in the IL East. The game started off with Bligh Madris smacking an RBI single to give the Durham Bulls an early 1-0 lead in the 2nd.
In the same inning, Rene Pinto hit a double down the right side of the field to get Bligh Madris home and make the score 2-0. With a runner on third base, the Bulls extended their lead to three, thanks to Xavier Edwards’s RBI double.
There was a lot of drama in the third inning, but to cap it off, Bligh Madris came through clutch again with a two-run shot. The Durham Bulls are now up 5-0 and have the game in cruise control.
After the Tides ended the Bull’s hope of a shutout with a single in the fourth, Vidal Brujan hit an RBI single to center to make it 6-1.
Norfolk would then score again before Lowe hit a two-run shot to the right, extending the score. Madrid recorded a game-high three hits, with Lowe, Brujan, and Pinto each adding multi-hit efforts.
With the victory, the Bulls ended their 2022 home slate with a 42-33 record. The Bulls are set to finish off their 2022 campaign with a three-game road series versus the Charlotte Knights, with a series opener set for Monday, September 26th at 6:35 pm.
