Feel-Good Party Of The Year! “Soul Train Awards” 2022 To Air On BET, BET Her, Logo, MTV2, VH1
NEW YORK, NY – The feel-good show of the year, the “Soul Train Awards” 2022 presented by BET, features an exciting lineup of unforgettable performances including special moments and appearances by some of the brightest stars in Black culture and entertainment. The annual event is committed to showcasing the impact of Soul Train on music and dance from the ‘70s to today. Hosted by award-winning comedian and actor Deon Cole, the “Soul Train Awards” 2022 premieres Saturday, November 26 at 8 pm ET/PT on BET, BET HER, Logo, MTV2, and VH1. The “Soul Train Awards Red Carpet Special” pre-show will air at 7 pm ET/PT, with hosts Tank covering the Main Stage, Letoya Luckett on the Correspondent Stage, and Novi Brown (“Tyler Perry’s Sistas”) in the Walmart Lounge.
The “Soul Train Awards” 2022 will feature performances by Iconic 80’s funk band and Legend Award honoree Morris Day & The Time, legendary multi-platinum-selling R&B supergroup and Lady of Soul honoree Xscape, R&B/Soul songstress Ari Lennox, Singer-songwriter, actress and personality Chanté Moore, singer-songwriter Muni Long, California-native singer SiR, R&B singer-songwriter, producer, and actor Tank, and BET Amplified artists Coco Jones and Q. Additionally, presenters who will take the stage include Jermaine Dupri, JB Smoove, Lucky Daye, Mark Tallman & Michelle Mitchenor (BET+ Original Series “First Wives Club”), and Queen Naija.
Alex Vaughn, Durand Bernarr, Muni Long, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard will blend harmonies for the annual Soul Cypher. Renowned DJ and music producer D-Nice will take command of the turntables, all culminating to make “Soul Train Awards” 2022, a show not to miss.
Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige lead “Soul Train Awards” 2022 nominations with an impressive 7 nods; Beyoncé for ‘Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,’ ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ and twice for ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award.’ Mary J. Blige for ‘Certified Soul Award,’ ‘Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,’ ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ ‘The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award,’ ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Best Collaboration.’ Ari Lennox garnered the second most nods with 6 nominations: ‘Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,’ ‘Album of the Year,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ ‘The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award,’ ‘Best Dance Performance,’ and ‘Video of the Year.’ Lizzo and Chris Brown are tied at 5 nods each, followed by Burna Boy, Muni Long, and Steve Lacy with 4 nods. Bruno Mars, Anderson .Paak, Silk Sonic, PJ Morton andTems each garnered 3 nominations.
