Tiara Wiley-King Provides Uplifting Experiences at Vis Ta Vie Wellness and Spa

WILSON, NC – “I want them to know that I’m here for all their wellness and healthcare needs. I play this happy medicine, not traditional,” said Tiara Wiley-King, the founder of Vis Ta Vie Wellness and Spa in Wilson, North Carolina.

Wiley-King, a nurse practitioner for almost 20 years, described the spa as a “one-stop shop” with various products and services. She started the business in March 2021, offering non-invasive body contouring, medication weight loss assistance, IV hydration infusion therapy, and top-of-the-line painless laser treatments.

“I don’t care what you look like. If you come to me, you’re going to get the best treatment,” Wiley-King said. She held her clients accountable by forming personal relationships with them and keeping track of their wellness on Facebook or through emails.

“People feel more secure knowing that they’re under my care, and I know their bodies well enough to give them what they need,” Wiley-King said. She noted the importance of discussing treatments, especially their cause, with her customers.

Wiley-King recalled dealing with others’ diagnoses and treatments as a young teen, and how healthcare has been a big part of her life. However, the death of her father and the exhausted and slack nurses she saw throughout the process made her, then 17, reconsider herself and healthcare.

“I still love healthcare, …, but I needed to be on the other side of healthcare, which is what I call happiness, like the aesthetics, the wellness, everything that I’m doing now,” Wiley-King said. “When I’m at my spa, I’m happy because I’m doing everything that makes other people happy.”

Wiley-King compared her uplifting experience of helping women clients at the spa with the burden and depression she had to overcome while working at hospitals.

She gave the spa the name Vis Ta Vie, meaning “Live Your Life” in French, to indicate its professional, yet fun and relaxing atmosphere. Music, essential oil, and strobe lights with proper brightness are special features at the spa for customers.

Wiley-King also regarded her clients as motivating factors to move the spa forward. According to her, they would send her stuff from TikTok or Instagram to suggest what the spa could integrate into practice.

“Charlotte and Greenville are bigger cities than Wilson, so I feel like we can really grow if I’m able to reach a whole another demographic,” Wiley-King shared her long-term strategies.
