Peace Missionary Celebrates 50 Years Of Faith, Fellowship And Community
DURHAM, NC – This year marks a significant milestone for Peace Missionary Baptist Church as they joyously commemorate their 50th anniversary of serving the Durham community with unwavering faith, love, and commitment.
Founded on July 28, 1974, by the late Rev. William E. Daye and 19 other dedicated parishioners, Peace has been a beacon of spiritual guidance, compassion, and community engagement for half a century. Over the past five decades, the church membership has grown and evolved, embracing the ever-changing needs of our community. Today, Peace is led by the Rev. Dr. D. Gregory Ceres.
To honor this momentous occasion, Peace has planned a series of special events and activities throughout the year. These celebrations will not only reflect on their rich history but also look forward to a future filled with continued spiritual growth, service, and unity.
Join them on Saturday, March 16, at 5 p.m. for a special musical recording where Peace’s W.E. Daye Mass Choir will record a compilation of music to celebrate the 50th anniversary. National recording artist Lamar Campbell will attend to provide a special guest performance. Melissa Wade of 103.9 The Light will serve as mistress of ceremonies. This event is free and open to the public.
