Two Men Arrested, One Still At-Large In Durham Shooting That Injured Three

DURHAM, NC – Durham Police investigators have arrested and charged three men in connection with a shooting that occurred near the intersection of Fayetteville Street and Linwood Avenue last month.

Shortly before 5 p.m. on April 11, 2024, Durham Police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Fayetteville St. and Linwood Ave. Officers did not locate any victims at the scene. A short time later, an adult male and a juvenile male who had been shot arrived at a local hospital in a private vehicle. Both victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

A third adult male shooting victim also arrived at a local hospital around the same time. This male also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

On May 6th, investigators charged Javonnte Patterson, 31, with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, while Jony’e Bethea, 20, and Jermel Moye, 20, have each been arrested and charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with this incident. While Bethea and Moye have been taken into custody, Patterson remains at large. Bethea remains in the Durham County Jail on a $100,000 bond, and Moye remains in jail on a $125,000 bond.
