Durham Police Seeking Public Assistance In Identifying Aggravated Assault Suspect

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance about an aggravated assault that occurred on a GoDurham bus on Tuesday morning (June 26).

At approximately 7:55 a.m. on June 25, 2024, officers responded to a report of an assault near the intersection of North Duke Street and Fairfield Road. Based on the investigation, a male suspect suddenly and without provocation started punching an adult female victim who was riding the bus. The victim sustained several injuries, including a gash on her right ear and severe bruising on her shoulders. The suspect then got off the bus and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Black male who appears to be in his late 30s to early 40s. Photos of the suspect are attached.
