Father Of Toddler Who Shot, Killed Herself Arrested In High Point
HIGH POINT, N.C. — A father of a High Point toddler who was shot and killed was arrested, according to the High Point Police Department.
The 1-year-old girl was shot and killed around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, according to police.
Detectives found evidence to support that a child younger than 10 years old found a firearm and fired a shot that killed her.
The 1-year-old’s father, Julian Helbert, 26, was arrested on Tuesday, November 19th, and charged in connection with her death.
Helbert was charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Felony Child Abuse, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm to Protect Minors, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana, Maintaining a Dwelling, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
No one else has been charged at this time.
