Durham Police Investigate Fatal Late-Night Shooting on Lathrop Street
DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting late Tuesday night (Sept. 30) on Lathrop Street. Officers say the incident appears to be isolated as detectives continue gathering evidence.
What Happened
At approximately 11:56 p.m., Durham police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Lathrop Street. When they arrived, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim Identified
Police have now identified the victim as Tykeon Holloway, 20, of Durham. Authorities say there are no further updates on possible suspects or arrests at this time.
Investigation Ongoing
Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Investigators have not released any additional information but emphasize that the case appears isolated and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
