Durham Police Investigating Shooting on South Alston Avenue

The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 600 block of South Alston Avenue.

 

At approximately 12:13 p.m., on February 16, 2026, Durham Police Officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 600 block of South Alston Avenue. When they arrived, officers located a crime scene and were later informed that the victim had been taken to a local hospital. The juvenile male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

 

Investigators are on the scene, determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.
