UPDATE: Funeral Arrangements for Bishop Frank Summerfield

Funeral Arrangements

Raleigh, NC – Word of God Fellowship Church (WOGFC) has announced funeral arrangements for Bishop Frank Summerfield, Pastor of the WOGFC, who passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017. He was 67 years old.

Funeral services will be held on Monday July 10th at Wake Chapel Church (3805 Tarheel Club Rd. – Raleigh). Visitation begins at 9:00am with the Celebration of Life at 11:00am. On Sunday July 9th a Memorial Service Celebration will be held at Word of God Fellowship (3000 Rock Quarry Road – Raleigh) at 10:00am.

The church announced his passing on Facebook, writing, “We are grieving the loss of a great leader and a father to many. At this time we ask that you keep the Summerfield family and the Word of God Fellowship Church family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Church members and others who were impacted by Summerfield’s ministry left sincere condolences in the comments section of the post. Many expressed surprise at his passing and testified to him being a powerful preacher and teacher.

There are no other details regarding how he died at this time.

However, one visitor commented that his wife, First Lady Summerfield, was ill recently. On January 29th, Bishop T.D. Jakes of the Potter’s House in Dallas, TX, posted a message on Instagram saying, “First Lady Summerfield, wife of Bishop Frank Summerfield, is in desperate need of healing. I just left her bedside in Raleigh agreeing with the family in prayer. Please join me in interceding for her! She really needs a touch from God.”

According to his biography on the Word of God Fellowship Church website, Frank Summerfield was also an administrator and superintendent for the City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation for fourteen years.

Dr. Summerfield taught at Campbell University in 1973 as an assistant health professor. He has also taught at Shaw University from 1988 to 1991 in the Department of Health, Recreation, and Physical Therapy. Additionally, he taught financial empowerment courses at Halifax Community College in Weldon, North Carolina.

He wrote numerous books, including: Money Management Matters In Marriage, Knowing our Delegated Authority, God’s Formula for Personal Success and Prosperity, and The Supernatural Power of Your Vision.

He appeared numerous times on The Word Network, BET, and ISNP TV.
