Welcome to Spectacular Magazine Independent Artist of the Week, the latest Spectacular Magazine weekly feature. Each week Raven Nicole Gibbs (professionally known as Raven Nicole), founder of the non-profit organization Motiv8, Inc., will feature an up-and-coming artist of various genres. This week we are featuring Trez  Falsetto.

Who are you?

My stage name is Trez Falsetto and I am located in the Raleigh/Durham area but originally born and raised in Durham, NC. I am a singer and songwriter and my purpose is to inspire others through music and lyrics.

 What is your genre? 

R&B/Pop Artist  

How did you get started?

I started singing in the church when I was about 6 or 7 years old and always had the passion for music since a kid. I played the drums and trumpet while in middle school and high school so I’ve always had an ear for music. My singing career began to elevate for me while attending college at North Carolina Central University.

Who are your musical or artistic influences?

Growing up I was influenced by a plethora of artist including Micheal Jackson, Chris Brown, R. Kelly, Usher, Musiq Soulchild and Sisqo. These artists all have diverse styles of writing and creating music so when I create I am influenced by each and every one of them.

What Motiv8s (motivates) you?

What Motiv8s me is the fact that I’ve seen myself grow as an artist over the years and I look forward to seeing what I can do to get better or improve. I feel as if I am in competition with myself to get better every single day. Also I have a 2 year old daughter who looks up to me so that is always a driving force for me.

Do you have any upcoming projects, shows, or appearances? What are your next steps?

Yes of course;

  • Multiple visuals about to drop soon

  • New single dropping in the Fall

  • HBCU Tour and more shows

  • Opening for R. Kelly and Bell Biv Devoe in September

  • Preparing an album for the top of the year.
