#Motiv8Monday – Cameron Galloway

Cameron Galloway (formerly Charlie Hustle) originally hails from Norfolk, VA, by way of Pollocksville, NC. He describes himself as a nomad as he has lived in several areas along the east coast. Cameron believes that “there is no growth in the presence of fear”.

As a Hip-Hop Emcee, he draws inspiration from literally everything which includes but is not limited to ancient mythology, visual art, stand up comedy, social commentary in all forms, and the esoteric. “The mundane bores me, but watching my children experience things for the first time is exciting. It’s like that scene in Bambi.” He also draws inspiration from movies, especially science fiction, indie flicks and “hood classics”. In his youth, Cameron was infatuated by street life and drug culture, living in poverty laden environments, and the illicit economy was very evident. Fortunately, he had parents that made sure he was informed about such things before really entering the world. As far as rap is concerned, he considers himself somewhere between NaS, Pusha T, Ab-Soul and Jay Electronica lyrically with a stage show similar to the high energy provided by ScHoolboy Q, DMX or Busta Rhymes.

He is Motiv8ed by his people; by pain & pleasure, poverty and wanting more out of life than working a 9-5 for 40 years to retire and die. Mr. Galloway is further motivated by the thought of learning and cultivating new pieces of art and seeing others succeed. He has an indescribable hunger for more!

Cameron is currently working on a collaborative project with fellow Black Lotus Society founder Ahken Rah entitled BlackGod as well as a solo effort (releasing this winter) under his real name instead of the former Charlie Hustle.
