Women’s Empowerment 2020 “Fulfill The Vision” Postponed

RALEIGH, NC – Radio One Raleigh announced today (March 20) that its annual Women’s Empowerment event scheduled for April 25 at PNC Arena has been postponed.

The decision was made after consultations with long-time venue partner PNC Arena, as well as the State of North Carolina and Wake County. It demonstrates the company’s efforts to join government officials, healthcare professionals, and business leaders who are working to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 virus and ensure the safety and well-being of its sponsors, staff and event attendees.

“Our intent is to do our part to ‘flatten the curve,’” said Vice President and General Manager Gary Weiss. “While the decision to reschedule is an incredibly difficult one, we feel it is in the best interest of our sponsors, vendors, staff and ticket holders and is our contribution to the safety and well-being of all. We are working to secure a new date in July or possibly August of this year.”

Several headliners including actress and producer Angela Bassett, actor and R&B sensation Tyrese and the Clark Sisters were among the performers scheduled to appear at Women’s Empowerment 2020. There is no guarantee that their schedules will permit their participation for the future date, but the company is committed to bringing the same caliber of talent as it has every year for the past 25 years.

Women’s Empowerment 2020 ticket holders are encouraged to please hold on to their tickets until the new date is announced. Radio One Raleigh will provide updates about the event schedule, performers and sponsorship as it becomes available.
