Disney To Bring A Residential Living Community To The Triangle
PITTSBORO, N.C. – Disney magic is coming to the Triangle. The Walt Disney Company’s first East Coast Storyliving by Disney community is making its way to Pittsboro with a 4,000-unit residential development called Asteria. Storyliving by Disney was introduced in early 2022 as a new sub-brand that would bring communities featuring “distinctively designed spaces, unique amenities, and Disney’s brand of world-renowned service” to locations around the US.
Rancho Mirage, CA — historically frequented by Walt and Lillian Disney for vacation — is the first Storyliving by Disney location. The residential community, Cotino, is designed for adults ages 55+, and single-family home prices begin at $1 million. New residents will begin moving in as early as 2024.
On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the company announced Asteria as the second Storyliving by Disney location + the first on the East Coast. The residential community will be part of the award-winning Chatham Park, with new single and multi-family homes crafted by DMB Development.
Asteria will be open to homeowners of all ages, with some residences reserved for those ages 55+. Luxury amenities will include community gathering spots, green spaces, a wellness center, a community garden, a vast trail system, a restaurant, sports courts, swimming pools, and fire pits.
For those on a never-ending quest in search of new knowledge, new experiences, and new connections, the Asteria community is envisioned as an oasis for lifelong learners.
In a press release, Disney explained that the residential community will align “with Chatham Park’s commitment to open green space” that encourages exploration.
“For nearly 15 years, Chatham Park has set the standard for innovative growth and thoughtful planning. We feel an extraordinary sense of responsibility to our residents and the broader community with this project, and we’re incredibly fortunate to work with Disney, DMB Development, and homebuilders to create something truly special,” said Chatham Park co-founder Julian “Bubba” Rawl.
Additionally, Asteria will offer various enrichment activities for all ages. Activities will range from storytelling dinners inspired by Disney tales, lessons with Disney artists, and family fun days with Disney-themed activities.
