Two-Time Grammy Winner, Destiny Child’s Founding Member LeToya Luckett Visits NCCU

DURHAM, NC – The Leadership in Entertainment and the Arts Program (L.E.A.P.) Talk Symposium at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) will conclude the academic year with artist and actress LeToya Luckett on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m. 

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the NCCU Student Center Event Hall at 500 Nelson St. 

Luckett, a two-time Grammy award winner and original member of the legendary group Destiny’s Child, epitomizes versatility and success in the realm of music, cinema, and television. With her talents leading to multi-platinum music accolades, she is not only a revered recording artist but also an influential public speaker and esteemed brand ambassador. Her acting portfolio includes significant roles in numerous films and series such as “Greenleaf,” “Rosewood,” “Ballers,” “Single Ladies,” “Treme,” and “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” Moreover, Luckett made her mark in reality television, captivating audiences over three seasons of the popular series “Friends & Family Hustle.” As a multifaceted artist and actress with a vast social media following, Luckett is a trusted figure for brands and a distinguished name in the entertainment industry. 

Created by NCCU alumnus and Grammy and Stellar Award-nominated artist Marcus Anderson, L.E.A.P. provides NCCU students with an exclusive perspective of the entertainment industry. It offers backstage access and insights from top influencers. The program is delivered in three parts, combining the excitement of in-person interactions with industry leaders with the convenience of self-paced online learning to cover the basics of the field.
