Durham, NC — Jesse Scholtens worked his longest outing in over three years, while Oliver Dunn had three hits including the tie-breaking double in the sixth as the Durham Bulls edged the Nashville Sounds 2-1 before 8,876 fans at the DBAP on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first four innings, Nashville (35-32) took a 1-0 lead when Scholtens (W, 3-4) allowed a homer to center by Eduardo Garcia. But Durham tied the game in the last of the fifth on a single by Caden Bodine to score Dunn.

Durham nosed ahead 2-1 in the sixth when Dunn doubled home Carson Williams with two outs. Dunn finished 3-4 with a run scored and RBI.

Scholtens pitched 6 2/3 innings, permitting only two hits and one run in his longest start since 2023 when he worked 6 2/3 against the Bulls while pitching for Charlotte.

Owen Wild (S, 3) worked a two-inning save to close out the win which gave the Bulls a 3-games-to-2 lead over the Sounds.

The homestand finale is set for Sunday at 1:05 PM ET with Logan Workman (3-8, 5,81) scheduled to match against Thomas Pannone (5-3, 4.23).
