The Durham Police Department (DPD) announced that investigators recovered 10 firearms, including four identified as stolen and two described as automatic, along with ammunition and cash during an October 14, 2026, operation in the 1100 block of Rosedale Avenue.

Two Durham residents, Treyveyon Cox, 21, and Telisha Hall-Cox, 50, face multiple firearm-related charges and charges involving the delinquency of minors.

Three juveniles were also charged in connection with the investigation.

Search Warrant Leads to Major Firearms Seizure

According to Durham police, members of the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, Special Operations Unit and Selective Enforcement Team executed the search warrant as part of an investigation into several recent crimes.

Officers recovered 10 firearms, four of which were identified as stolen. Police also described two of the recovered weapons as automatic firearms.

Investigators seized ammunition and cash during the operation.

The department released a photograph showing the recovered weapons and other evidence arranged on a table.

Police have not disclosed the total amount of cash recovered or provided details about the ownership of each firearm.

Two Durham Adults Face Multiple Charges

Durham police identified Cox and Hall-Cox as the two adults charged following the investigation.

According to the department, the charges announced in connection with the case include:

  • Four counts of possession of a stolen firearm.

  • Two counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction.

  • Two counts of possession of a machine gun.

  • Three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The police announcement listed these charges collectively and did not specify which counts were assigned to each defendant.

Authorities also did not provide bond amounts or information about the defendants’ first court appearances.

All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Investigation Connected to 19 Vehicle Break-Ins

Police said the charges stem from incidents in the area of North Roxboro Road and Club Boulevard, as well as vehicle break-ins reported between October 1 and October 7.

Among the incidents under investigation was a particularly large series of break-ins in the 4400 block of Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard, where police reported that 19 vehicles were entered.

The search warrant was also connected to investigations involving armed robberies and a reported sexual assault.

However, the department did not specify which suspects, if any, face charges directly related to the robberies or sexual assault.

Police also did not disclose additional details about those incidents, including the number of victims or the circumstances surrounding the reported sexual assault.

Three Juveniles Also Charged

In addition to the two adults, Durham police confirmed that three juveniles were charged as part of the investigation.

The department said it would not release information identifying the juveniles or specifying their individual charges because of laws governing juvenile records.

Investigators indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

The department has not announced whether additional suspects are being sought.
