[Menu] NC State Fair Food Event Runs Daily October 15 – October 25
Raleigh, NC – Even though the state fair is canceled this year – you’ll still be able to get your fair food fix. Let’s face it, the food is always one of the best parts of the fair.
Fair officials determined holding a fair that abides by the CDC and NCDHHS recommendations during the pandemic would not be possible. The NC State Fair has operated as the premier agricultural exhibition in the state since 1853. NC State Fair Manager Kent Yelverton believes to offer anything less than what fairgoers have come to know and love would be a disservice to our community. There is no halfway when producing a fair. The people, the lights, the rides, the smells, the music…all of that contributes to an atmosphere that can only be felt during a fair. The food event offers a portion of that.
“We are able to bring together 22 of our North Carolina-based fair food vendors that would normally be here in October,” Yelverton said.
From Oct. 15-25, the fairground gates will be open. You’ll be able to go in and choose which foods you just can’t go without this year.
The vendors are as excited as the patrons for this event. This event allows the vendors an opportunity to serve the public and regain some of the revenue lost without a state fair this year.
The event will run each day from 10 am – 8:30 pm.
Patrons will enter the Fairgrounds through Gate 9 off Trinity Road and park in the midway area. Then they’ll walk up the hill toward Dorton Arena, where they’ll find all the fair food vendors.
Face coverings and social distancing are required for all people attending.
Once you get your food, you must leave. People are not allowed to gather and eat at the event.
Most vendors are cash only, but some may choose to accept credit cards.
