Psi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Wraps Up Inspiring Achievement Week Programs

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Psi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. successfully concluded its weeklong celebration of the fraternity’s International Achievement Week earlier this month. Themed “Omega Men Building a Better Society with Friendship as a Foundation,” the week featured impactful events that honored veterans, uplifted the community, and celebrated excellence within the fraternity.

The festivities began on Veterans Day with a breakfast honoring local veterans, followed by a virtual wellness seminar co-hosted by Psi Phi Chapter and Beta Beta Chapter, featuring Psi Phi’s own Dr. John Card. The following evening, the Psi Phi brothers volunteered at Samaritan Ministries, serving meals and supporting those in need.

The week’s highlight was the annual Achievement Week Awards Banquet on November 14, led by Basileus Richard Watkins and Achievement Week Chair Linwood Jerald. The banquet recognized outstanding contributions by fraternity brothers and community leaders. Sheriff Bro. Bobby Kimbrough delivered an empowering keynote address, urging attendees to “stand in the gap” for young Black men in their communities.

The week concluded on November 17—coinciding with the fraternity’s 113th Founders Day—with a fellowship service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. More than two dozen brothers attended the service, where the chapter donated $1,900 to the church’s Senior Life Enrichment Center.

“Our Brothers honored our Founders by enthusiastically participating in the Achievement Week programs,” said Basileus Watkins. “We will carry this momentum throughout the year to build a stronger community.”
