Durham Police File 186 Petitions on 3 Juveniles in String of Vehicle Break-Ins
DURHAM, NC – Durham Police Department investigators have filed 186 juvenile petitions against three juveniles linked to a series of motor vehicle break-ins that occurred throughout the city last month. The incidents took place at five locations between the evening of November 13 and the early morning of November 14.
Break-In Locations
- 20 block of Providence Court
- 1800 block of NC Highway 54
- 1900 block of West Park Drive
- 2500 block of Meridian Parkway
- 3000 block of Ivey Wood Lane
Charges Filed
The three juveniles—a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male—face the following charges:
- 37 counts of Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle
- 7 counts of Misdemeanor Larceny
- 2 counts of Larceny of Firearm
- 1 count of Larceny of Motor Vehicle
- 15 counts of Conspiracy
Investigators have submitted secured custody orders to Juvenile Justice for all three juveniles.
Ongoing Investigations
Durham Police continue to investigate additional motor vehicle break-ins and thefts across the city. Collaborating with other agencies in the Triangle area, investigators are working to bring charges against those involved in these crimes.

To help prevent thefts, Durham Police urge community members to:
- Lock your vehicles and park in well-lit areas.
- Remove spare keys, valuables, and firearms from vehicles.
- Report suspicious activity to 911 immediately.
