Raleigh Man Killed, Coworker Charged With Murder After Workplace Shooting in Brier Creek
RALEIGH, N.C. — A workplace shooting at a Brier Creek business Tuesday afternoon has left one man dead and another facing a murder charge, according to the Raleigh Police Department.
UPDATE (Nov. 26, 2025):
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Darieen Marquise Hewett, who died from injuries sustained during the shooting at Onward Safety Solutions, located at 6521 Mount Herman Road.

Police have arrested 26-year-old Damouri Jontae Woods, a coworker of the victim, and charged him with murder.
Authorities confirm that the shooting occurred inside the business, which provides traffic control services for construction zones. Witnesses told ABC11 that Woods allegedly walked into the office and shot Hewett, shocking colleagues who said both men were well known at the company.
Forensic investigators worked well into the night, gathering evidence from both inside and outside the building. Employees were kept on site for hours as investigators processed the scene and vehicles remained blocked off.
“This is tragic,” one worker told reporters. “We never imagined something like this would happen here.”
Woods is expected to make his first court appearance on Wednesday. The investigation remains ongoing.
