TRAILER WATCH: Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns as Santa in ‘The Man With the Bag’ Holiday Heist

The newly released trailer brings together Schwarzenegger and Alan Ritchson, star of Reacher, for an unlikely partnership involving a stolen magical bag, a team of misfits and a daring mission to save Christmas.

Directed by Adam Shankman, the family-friendly action-comedy combines holiday magic, humor, and a heist that could determine whether Santa makes his annual deliveries.

Santa Claus Has a Christmas Emergency

In The Man With the Bag, Christmas is threatened when a rogue elf with a grudge, played by Awkwafina, steals Santa’s iconic red bag.

With time running out, Santa turns to an unexpected source for help: Vance (Ritchson), a thief whose name appears on the Naughty List.

Vance assembles a crew of criminally skilled misfits, joined by his daughter and some unlikely holiday helpers, to recover the stolen bag.

What follows is a Christmas caper filled with elaborate schemes, action sequences, and the kind of holiday chaos that comes with putting Santa Claus and a professional thief on the same team.

Schwarzenegger Returns to Christmas Movies After 30 Years

For Schwarzenegger, the film marks a return to holiday entertainment approximately 30 years after his 1996 comedy Jingle All the Way.

This time, rather than playing a father desperately searching for a Christmas gift, he’s stepping into Santa’s boots.

The film pairs his larger-than-life screen presence with Ritchson’s action credentials, creating a combination that promises both physical comedy and holiday adventure.

The supporting cast includes Berkeley James, Michael Cyril Creighton, Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney and Jane Krakowski, alongside Ken Jeong and Awkwafina.

Shankman directs from a screenplay by Allan Rice.
