Update: Raleigh Police Make Arrests In Teen’s Shooting Death On Sawyer Rd.

RALEIGH – The following release was distributed on October 22, 2023, at 12:47 a.m.

On Saturday, October 21, 2023, at approximately 12:22 a.m., the Raleigh Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Sawyer Road.  The victim, Taliyah Watson, 19, had been transported by vehicle to the hospital with serious injuries. Watson succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.

A’shante Freeman, 21, has been arrested for the homicide of Watson. She has been charged with Murder. Her photo is on the left.

This is an ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released at the appropriate time.

Update: The Raleigh Police Department has made a second arrest in the homicide of Taliyah Watson, 19, in the 1300 block of Sawyer Road.

Jordan Sanders, 23, has been charged with Murder. This is an ongoing investigation.
